Show News At It's Best

The first Woolly Quarter Horse Circuit held in Douglas, WY was a huge success.  Classes were large with tons of points available.  And the weather was pretty good for May in WY - no rain, no snow and fairly warm temps for this time of year.

Thanks to all those who supported this show! We really appreciate you coming and to all those who wussed out....

The Energy City Classic and Derby to be held in GIllette, WY from May 31 thru June 3, 2012 is now WQHA Approved.

There is a press release out from AQHA concerning the rules for the Youth World Show.  These changes include the number of entries per class that can attend through state qualifying and the rules for hardship cases.  The press release can be found on the YOUTH Page.

The NEWS & SHOWS page has an updated 2012 event schedule as well.  Be sure to get your dues paid before you shows.  Points will NOT count if earned prior to your dues being paid.  There is

Like getting that Incentive Fund check every March????

Then be sure to pay your Incentive Fund annual premium when showing in Open and Amateur classes.  This is a new change to the Incentive Fund that will provide for greater payouts to point earning horses and their owners starting in 2012.

Amateur/Youth Halter Class Rule Changes

To have an approved amateur halter division, the following halter classes must be offered by show management. Novice Halter may be offered as an approved and pointed class at any AQHA approved show. Stallions may not be shown in Novice Halter classes.

Yearling geldings

2-Year-Old Stallions

2-Year-Old Mares

2-Year-Old Geldings

3-Year-Old Stallions

3-Year-Old Mares

3-Year-Old Geldings

4-Year-Old and Older Stallions

4-Year-Old and Older Mares

4-Year-Old and Older Geldings

Performance Halter Stallions

Performance Halter Mares

Performance Halter Geldings

To have an approved youth halter division, the following halter classes must be offered by show management:

Yearling Mares

Yearling Geldings

2-Year-Old Mares

2-Year-Old Geldings

3-Year-Old Mares

3-Year-Old Geldings

Aged Mares

Aged Geldings

Performance Halter Mares

Performance Halter Geldings

For all divisions: Show management will have the option of combining age groups into 2-and-under and 3-and-over with the unanimous consent of all exhibitors to be affected. Classes may be combined only if there are 2 or less entries in at least one of the halter age groups to be combined. Once halter age groups are combined and additional entries are taken, it is mandatory that halter age groups be split to the originally requested classes should ½ point or more become available in each age group. The Performance Halter would continue to be offered as a separate class.

Membership Information

All memberships are for a family at a cost of $35.00 per year.  Membership includes a subscription to The Wrangler. Additional designations are Amateur and  Youth exhibitor. Be sure to include ages on your youth members and designate whether any amateurs are Select.  Points toward year-end awards will not count until your dues are paid.  Send your dues to John.
